The deoxidizer for steelmaking is mainly used for alloy steel, cast steel, stainless steel, and ordinary steel. Its scope of application includes converter, electric furnace, and LF furnace. After using a new multifunctional slag adjusting agent, it can achieve the effect of "early slag formation in the initial stage, thorough slag formation in the process, and sticking slag at the end point"; After steelmaking, the slag can splash, stick, and resist erosion.

The main deoxidizers for steelmaking include silicon aluminum barium calcium iron, silicon calcium cored wire, aluminum wire, aluminum manganese iron, steel core aluminum, calcium carbide, and silicon carbide. Their main function is to react with dissolved oxygen in molten iron, mainly generating non-metallic compounds, forming precipitates that float up to the slag layer, and then remove them to obtain pure molten iron.

1: Types of deoxidizers for steelmaking

1. Steelmaking deoxidizers can be divided into electric furnace deoxidizers, converter deoxidizers, open hearth deoxidizers, medium frequency furnace deoxidizers, etc. according to the type of furnace;

2. According to the composition of materials, it can be divided into composite deoxidizers, pure metal deoxidizers, alloy deoxidizers, etc; According to the different deoxidation capabilities of the furnace charge, it can be divided into initial deoxidizer, intermediate deoxidizer, and final deoxidizer, etc;

3. According to the different elemental indicators required in the steelmaking process, it can be divided into silicon based deoxidizers, aluminum based deoxidizers, calcium based deoxidizers, and barium based deoxidizers. These deoxidizers are generally composite deoxidizers composed of two or more elements. Regardless of the form of deoxidizer, deoxidation is achieved in the ladle.

2: Application of deoxidizer in steelmaking

1. The converter generally uses the following deoxidizers for steelmaking: Fe Mn, Fe Si, Mn Si alloy, Ca Si alloy, aluminum, Fe Al, and composite deoxidizers.

2. The initial deoxidation products such as silicon iron, silicon manganese, silicon carbide, and composite deoxidizers are added to the bottom of the ladle in one go according to the addition ratio;

3. The deoxidizing ability of composite alloy products is second only to that of aluminum. Generally, deoxidizing agents are added in one go when one-third of the molten steel is added;

4. Aluminum, silicon calcium alloys and other final deoxidized products are added at two-thirds of the point where the molten steel enters the ladle, which can avoid material waste and prevent the disadvantage of early addition of final deoxidized products causing viscosity of the molten steel.

5. The use of deoxidizers in steelmaking should be based on the premise of ensuring steel quality, and inexpensive ferroalloys should be selected to reduce the cost of steel.

3: Three specifications and models of deoxidizer for steelmaking

1. The deoxygenation product formed by using Si/Mn may include: pure SiO2 in the solid phase; Liquid phase MnO? SiO2; Solid solution MnO FeO. By controlling appropriate ω〔 Mn/ ω〔 Can liquid phase MnO be obtained by Si ratio? SiO2 products and inclusions are easy to float and remove.

2. Deoxygenation with S+Mn+Al may result in the formation of a deoxygenated product called roseite (2MnO-A1203-5SiO2); Silicon aluminum garnet (3MnO? Al2O3? 3SiO2); A12O3( ω〔 Al2O3>30%). Control the composition of inclusions in the low melting point range, for this purpose, the steel ω IAl ≤ 0.006%, the solubility of [O] in steel can reach 0.0020% (20ppm) without Al203 precipitation. The steel has good castability, does not block the water outlet, and does not produce subcutaneous pores in the casting billet.

3. Deoxidize with excess aluminum. For low-carbon aluminum killed steel, if the content of acid soluble aluminum [Al] s in the steel is 0.02% to 0.04%, then all deoxygenation products are Al203. Al203 has a melting point as high as 2050 ℃ and is solid in molten steel; If the Al203 content is high, the castability of molten steel will deteriorate, making it easy to block the water outlet. In addition, Al203 is a non deformable inclusion that affects the performance of the steel. Accelerate the floating and discharge of Al203 by blowing argon and stirring, or feed calcium treatment into Si Ca and Ca lines to change the properties of Al203. [Al] s content is low, and calcium treatment generates low melting 2CaO? Al203? SiO2; For low-carbon aluminum killed steel, calcium treatment makes the product easy to float and purify the molten steel, improving its castability,

Composite steelmaking deoxidizer silicon aluminum barium calcium:

Si>30%, Ca>6%, Ba>9%. Al>8%. (Indicators can be adjusted as needed)

Silicon aluminum barium calcium deoxidizer is a high-quality deoxidizer and desulfurizer in barium based alloys, which minimizes the oxygen in steel. At the same time, the complex oxides containing calcium, barium, silicon, and aluminum formed are easy to float up from the steel liquid, purifying the steel liquid and improving its impact toughness and processing performance.

Steel deoxidizer for electric furnace steelmaking:

Aluminum slag ball:

Al ≥ 25%, Al2O3: 20-45%, MgO ≤ 3.0%, CaO: 10-15%, SiO2 ≤ 6.0%, S ≤ 0.50%, P ≤ 0.50%; Particle size: 10-50mm.

Aluminum slag ball can be used as a deoxidizer to remove free oxygen from the steel during the initial refining process. In addition, it can quickly form slag and cover the liquid surface to isolate air. The slag making speed is fast, the desulfurization efficiency is high, and the slag sample can turn white in 15 minutes after refining, which is quite beneficial for desulfurization and impurity removal.
